Memorial Park Cemetery is recognized as one of the most beautiful and well-kept cemeteries in the upper Midwest. Established in 1878 as a non-profit association, Memorial Park uses all proceeds to pay for, improve, maintain, and beautify our cemetery grounds. The Park serves all faiths, is owned by its lot owners, and has space available for the next 100 years.
The natural beauty of the park's 32 acres features:
- Well kept lawns
- Flower gardens
- Reflection pond
- Hard surfaced roads that wind through the park
- Majestic trees that lend shade to these special grounds
Flush and upright memorials of enduring granite provide testimonies of devotion, pride, and remembrance to pay warm tribute to the accomplishments and to the lift -- not the death -- of our loved ones.
At Memorial Park, families are pleased with the wide range of choices they have with regard to their place of final rest. On the following pages are some examples of the options available for your family.
Traditional Burial
Upright Memorial Estates
Grave Level Estates
The flush and upright memorials coupled with individual family plantings of various flowers and shrubs make any traditional family estate a very special place.
Private Family Estates
The park has traditional burial estates available near our reflection pond, large mature trees, or if the family prefers more privacy, the park has private family estates available in designated areas.
Lawn Crypts
The lawn crypt is a relatively new concept in earth entombment. A lawn crypt is essentially an "underground mausoleum".
Lawn Crypt
Each crypt holds either one or two caskets so husband and wife may be entombed together.
The crypts are placed over an extensive drain tile system assuring families the driest form of earth entombment available. Lawn crypts offer families the permanence and solitude of their own private crypt along with inflation protection and savings over other burial options.
Mausoleum
Mausoleum entombment is certainly not a new idea. The Tomb of Christ, The Pyramids of Egypt, and The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, DC are all mausoleums.
Mausoleum entombment at one time was available only to the royal, the famous, or the wealthy. With today's modern construction techniques, the advantages of mausoleum entombment are available to everyone. Mausoleum entombment is known to be the finest type of burial known to man.
It's clean, it's dry, it's vented, it's permanent and it's affordable.
Cremation Memorialization
Columbarium Inurnment
Niche Space with Bronze Plaque
Ground Inurnment
Inurnment is a dignified and respectful act of placing a loved one's cremated remains in a place of permanent rest.
Cremation Memorials
Memorial Park has a variety of beautiful and affordable options available for the proper memorialization of cremated remains.
Perpetual Care
The concept of Perpetual Care is to accumulate funds so that the cemetery can be properly maintained even after it no longer has any property to sell or burials to make. Under North Dakota law, cemeteries that hold themselves forth to the public as Perpetual Care cemeteries must deposit not less than 20% of the selling price of any property sold into a Perpetual Care Fund.
Memorial Park Cemetery is active in promoting responsible Perpetual Care Trusting, assuring lot owners that their cemetery has sufficient funds to provide the accustomed level of cemetery care and maintenance now and in the future.
Prearrangement
Experience has shown us the preplanning is one way to make comfortable choices without the pressure and grief of an emergency situation.
More and more people are telling us at the time of final arrangements, "We took care of this together years ago, and I'm glad we did."
Those who preplan their future cemetery needs are comforted in knowing that they have relieved their family from the financial and emotional burden of making those decisions at the time of need. In addition, those who preplan typically take advantage of discounted prices, low monthly payments, and price protection (prices are frozen).
We invite you to call Robin J. Purcell for further information or for a private consultation. We also invite you to personally visit our cemetery grounds to experience for yourself its beauty and solitude.
